There is a public hearing scheduled for Monday, March 16, at 1 PM regarding a proposed variance for LDG Development at the corner of Westport Rd. and Ridgeway Ave. to allow a parking lot to encroach into the rear yard setback along Delridge Drive. Try to be as specific as possible with your comments. This meeting is only regarding the zoning variance. An office phone number for Sydney is 502-574-4488. Here is the latest proposal for Gilman's: 199 units, luxury apts, one entrance (Westport) 2 4-story buildings, others are 2 story. Developer wants to meet with neighbors. St. Matthews will have a public hearing.
LDG Development Group (https://www.ldgdevelopment.com/) is proposing a 199-unit apartment project at the corner of Ridgeway Ave and Westport Rd. Ridgeway Neighbors and Friends is a neighborhood group opposed to this project for a number of reasons, including: increased traffic, design not compatible with the surrounding neighborhood homes, and inappropriate density for the area.
The project has been through one Land Development and Transportation committee meeting to determine if the technical issues have been met. There were some issues, but it was moved forward and a Public Hearing was scheduled for June 26. However, new objections were raised and the Public Hearing was canceled. If LDG corrects the issues the proposal will have to go through a new LDT committee meeting. If the project is then allowed to proceed, a new Public Hearing will be scheduled no sooner than two weeks later.

We oppose the so-called "Gilman's Point" development. This 5-story, 290 unit apartment complex is proposed to occupy the beautiful open field at the corner of Westport Road and Ridgeway Avenue in St. Matthews, Kentucky.

Express your concerns about the proposed development. Tell Commissioner Fawcett why you think this project will cause harm to our neighborhood. Reasons can include traffic concerns, inappropriate height of the structures (5 stories), lighting, loss of green space, water runoff, lack of sufficient parking for number of units, etc.
